TRACKING WITH LUSI

TRACKING WITH LUSI

I had been reading in the     Dalmatian Club of America's quarterly newsletter, "The Spotter" about tracking with Dalmatians. One of the things it suggested was that tracking was an excellent activity for young dogs because it did not put undue stress on their young limbs.

After researching online for a tracking club I discovered that I was more or less on the home grounds of the Cross Country Tracking Club, which until very recently had been the only "tracking only" club in Canada.

So it was in early December 2011, with Lusi at six months old, that we met Marie Babin on the Hydro grounds in Scarborough, Ontario and started our first session of tracking.

By the third class with Marie, Lusi was showing a keenness for the sport and we were both enjoying every minute out there on the field tracking! On this next video Marie is kind enough to both film and to provide a commentary as we track.

One of our key goals for 2012 is to be able to do the CKC Tracking Dog, TD certification!
